The short answer

A company’s CIPC annual return is due within 30 business days after the anniversary of its incorporation date, every year. A close corporation files during its anniversary month or the month after. Director changes (CoR39) and beneficial ownership changes must be filed within 10 business days of the change, and a new company must file beneficial ownership within 10 business days of incorporation.

Never miss a CIPC deadline again

  • Use the add-to-calendar button above to save your deadlines with reminders.
  • Keep the directors’ own email addresses and cell numbers on the CIPC record. CIPC sends reminders there, not to your agent.
  • Prepare the FAS or AFS before the anniversary so the annual return isn’t held up.
  • Confirm your beneficial ownership is current before filing; it is a hard-stop.
  • Or hand it over: our Compliance Autopilot tracks every deadline for you.
