Frequently Asked Questions on CIPC Annual Returns
What is the deadline for filing CIPC Annual Returns?
Annual returns are due every year within 30 business days starting from the calendar day following the anniversary date of your company's incorporation. For Close Corporations (CCs), returns are due from the first day of the anniversary month up to the end of the following month.
What happens if my company is final deregistered?
If a company reaches 'Final Deregistered' status, it ceases to exist as a legal person. Its bank accounts are frozen permanently, and all company assets automatically forfeit to the National Treasury (State) as bona vacantia. Reviving the company requires a formal CIPC Reinstatement process (Form CoR 40.5), including deeds office searches and National Treasury clearance letters.
What is a Financial Accountability Supplement (FAS)?
Companies that are not required by law to have their annual financial statements audited must complete and file a Financial Accountability Supplement (FAS - Form CoR 30.2) simultaneously with their Annual Return. Mitrend compiles and verifies your FAS figures during our lodgement service.
