How CIPC fees work

  • Electronic filing is cheaper than manual. Most forms have a lower online fee.
  • Filing fees are non-refundable. A rejected name reservation is not refunded, so submit four strong names.
  • Payment: newer e-Services transactions are paid by card at checkout; others draw on prepaid credit on your customer code. Unpaid name reservations are deleted at midnight, and reinstatements must be paid within 5 working days.
  • Registration credit: the R175 registration fee includes the R50 name reservation. Register under the registration number only and you pay R125.
  • Fees change by government gazette. Always confirm on cipc.co.za before paying a large amount.

CIPC fees vs professional fees

The amounts above are what CIPC charges. Accountants and agents add a professional fee for preparing resolutions, checking documents and dealing with queries. That is worth it when something is complex or urgent, for example several years of overdue annual returns or a deregistered company. Simple filings, like a single on-time annual return, are easy to do yourself with our guides.
